DNS Spoofing Protection
One method that could be used to fool you into visiting fake Online Banking sites is DNS Poisoning, or other related attacks.
The DNS is what converts the address you type in your browser (www.example.org) into the actual IP address. The DNS server usually sits at your ISP. If an attacker was able to convince your computer to use their DNS server instead of the one at your ISP, they could trick your computer into visiting fake sites. This is possible in theory by either changing DNS settings on your computer, or, in the less likely case - by attacking your ISP.
Online Armor protects against this attack quite simply. It compares the DNS results from your local machine against a trusted third-party server. This stops programs from manipulating your windows settings to misdirect you to fake sites.
If there is a mismatch between the trusted third-party server and your local machine, you are alerted. Simple and effective protection.
